An Attitude Of Gratitude

An Attitude Of Gratitude

When we are determined to have a thankful, positive, intentional, and grateful attitude it affects our lives. We tend to be more on point with gratefulness during this time of year. We think about gratitude & thankfulness more. Don’t get me wrong, that’s a wonderful thing. Really though, we should understand that truly our attitude should be one with gratitude 365 days of the year. ⁣⁣

When I simply feel overwhelmed by the abundance of my blessings I have an exceptional, almost overwhelming, need to express my thankfulness. Other times I feel unappreciated, tired, uninspired, bitter, bossy, exhausted & like my ‘to do’ list will never end. In those times reaching for a ‘gratitude attitude’ sounds like a phrase on an inspirational card I want to rip up and throw away. I know I am not alone here. Choosing to operate with thankfulness is just flat hard on those days.⁣⁣ I think it's important to point out I'm currently typing this at a family member's home in Tallahassee 3 hours away from my home. While my car is at a gas station with a dead battery that happened to die at midnight last night on the interstate on the way here. Even at 1:00 AM on the side of the interstate, I'm proud to say I was still thankful for how stunning the stars were, that my fiance kept me safe while taking the necessary steps to get us home. It seems like my gratitude had to be tested before this day of thanks.
⁣⁣
When I sit back & think about my life, usually after a task of self-care or meditation, I see it more. I see how blessed I truly am. When I choose to be thankful for the way I look & feel, the love I’m surrounded by, the soap orders I need to ship (after all being busy is a blessing), and the moments I do feel appreciated, I increase my own joy. Manifesting my ability to be truly thankful has created more hope, faith & peace in this journey called ‘my life’. These daily thoughts have changed my life. I know that sounds dramatic, but give true daily gratitude a try & you will feel the same way. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
One of my favorite ways to implement this in my life is to write down 10 things I have been blessed with every day. You should be noticing & recording the tiny things throughout your day. This is what keeps your faith up. Seeing these moments of grace will get easier as you continue this practice. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I’m telling you this because I want to inspire you to live a happier, healthier, and more fulfilled life. You shouldn’t wait for the new year. You should to take on the rest of your days with a gratitude attitude starting today. Your attitude shapes your life’s experience. It’s worth operating your life with an outpouring of thanks. ⁣⁣
